Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21, 1983) is a famous American actress. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Originating from Worthington Ohio, she left high school to move into Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. However, in 2001, despite difficulties with money she managed to secure her first big part in the web-based video show Rachel's Room playing the lead character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role of Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to be awarded. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and was awarded with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) alongside her. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to pursue an even more prominent role in films, having appeared opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) in Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of these roles. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013, she was in the six-season of Californication. She portrays Faith who's the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she's the younger sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she began to work on small roles with her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her twin brother. She also starred as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606), both of which earned their Golden Globe Award nods. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). She then played in comedies and dramas which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 She also played the role of a Secret Service Agent in White House Down the action-packed thriller released in 2013, as well as a singer in Frank (2014), and The lead on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama that was released in the year of 2018. The debut of Gyllenhaal as a filmmaker and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama for which she received an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
