John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has touched a lot of people through his music. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in the love of Colorado and then relocated to Aspen. Denver's songs for his home state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver has been the symbol of the state to everyone around the world. In my travels, I've met people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform people you're from Colorado The first thing they'll say is"Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff initially wrote the song to Johnny Cash's tune with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver realized from the first time he heard the first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant hit. The song was recorded by the singer only a few days afterward after performing it to an enthusiastic audience on the streets of Washington D.C.
